Hello, my name is Greg Mott, woodturner. I have been woodturning for 15 years, and live at Wongle Beach just 20 minutes out of Kayla, New Zealand.

My love of creating beautiful things from natural wood and enjoying the challenge of each individual piece is very satisfying. It is wonderful to be rewarded by people like yourself appreciating my work.

With any article many factors contribute to the finished product. One of these is the availability of wood. I use wood which is native to New Zealand : Rimu; Matai; Walnut and Yew.

The finish is also extremely important as it should enhance the woods' natural beauty.

These things and my love of turning is what I work on.

It is an on-going challenge, always striving for that perfect piece. Some have gone flying out of the workshop with a few words muttered under my breath!
